Let’s talk about something else right now. I want to tell you about my very special friend, Bosley. Even though Bosley got very old and sick and isn’t with us anymore, we still remember him lots!
Before I came to live with Gail, Bosley was already here, and guess what? He was a SUPER picky eater! Are you a picky eater sometimes?
Well, Gail tried everything to find food Bosley liked! She had soft crunchy food, hard crunchy food, and yummy-smelling canned food with fish, chicken, and turkey. But Bosley just went, “Meow! No way!” He even turned his nose up at tuna and salmon! So, Gail had to call the place where she got Bosley, the Alcona Humane Society, and they told her what he liked. Then she had to go on a little adventure to find that special food!
While all that was happening, Gail even wrote a poem about Bosley’s picky eating! I just asked her to share it with you. Did you ever have a pet who was a picky eater?
A lonely gray cat
wanted to eat.
He meowed and meowed
at his mistress’s feet.
She took out food
poured some in a bowl.
The old cat sniffed
and dug a hole.
He buried the food
then begged for more.
The lady yelled
and slammed the door
She tried again
and set down a dish.
It came from a can
And smelled like fish
The gray pet snarled,
“I don’t like that.
Why don’t you learn
to care for your cat?”
The lady poured
From a different sack.
“One more try
then I’ll send you back.”
“DELICIOUS,” purred the cat.

Oh, Bosley! He was a character, that’s for sure. And you’re right, his taste in friends was… interesting! A chimpanzee and an elephant (in the picture)? They do seem like rather quiet and possibly kinda stand-offish fellers. But, maybe they had some good stories to tell? Thanks for listening to my memories about my buddy, Bosley. He was very loved.
Yep, here comes Gail with that tell-tale HUGE lunchbox! All-nighter editing mission commencing! It’s going to be a lot of work, but those stories are going to be amazing, I just know it!
